The COVID-19 epidemic continues to evolve by the day. As an employer and member of each community where we operate, we believe we must do our part to slow the spread of the virus while we continue to support our customers and JTEKT families.
Our priority is our people. This means prioritizing the health and safety of our team members at every level of the company, from plants to headquarters, across our supply chain.

ARE YOUR EMPLOYEES WORKING FROM HOME?
As of March 16, we made arrangements to encourage all team members who can work remotely to do so. All international and domestic travel has been restricted to business critical meetings. Visits to, and meetings with external parties at, any of our North American locations has been restricted to business critical meetings.
WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH YOUR MANUFACTURING PLANTS DURING THIS TIME?
Due to the nature of manufacturing and distribution, not all of our team members are able to work remotely. As a company, we are taking the necessary actions to help ensure we do our part to minimize risk to all those working in our facilities. We are working to be flexible with manufacturing schedules to allow accommodations where feasible.
HOW ARE MANUFACTURING PLANTS TAKING CARE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES?
We have taken the following actions in our facilities to protect our teams:
- Regular communication for personal safeguarding against COVID-19.
- Replenishing disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer products and CDC-recommended cleaners for the cleaning staff.
- Increasing the frequency of cleaning touch points like door handles, handrails and tables.
- Closely monitoring all warnings from public health and governmental authorities and actively updating our response plans accordingly.
- Restricting visitor access to our facilities and all work-related air travel.
- Limiting face-to-face meetings and encouraging virtual options for communication.
WHAT HAPPENS IF AN EMPLOYEE IS EXPOSED TO OR DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19?
- Each facility has emergency response plans in place for confirmed cases of COVID-19 and safety protocols for people with potential exposure.
- If you believe you have been in close contact with someone who poses a COVID-19 health risk, please follow these guidelines for communicating with JNA.
We realize this is a challenging time, both personally and professionally, and having a resource to help with dealing with those stresses has never been more important. We encourage all associates to utilize our LifeWorks support program. This service provides confidential support and information for our associates 24/7.
Our partner, Cigna, has provided a list of community resources that may be of help to you and your family during this difficult time.

If your employment is negatively affected by COVID-19, your Human Resources Manager will provide you with specific information for filing an unemployment claim. States that allow employer-filed claims are encouraging this more efficient method and your Human Resources Manager is prepared to offer this assistance where allowed.
The Human Resources team has curated resources and is available to assist with navigating and understanding the benefits and programs available.
